When is the best time to apply for my visa?
The best time to apply for your visa is 1-2 months before your travel date. However, if you are running short on time, for some countries we may be able to process your visa in as little as 1 business day. For example, if you overnight your application to us on Monday, you can have it back in your hand on Wednesday with our same-day rush service.
Do I have to send you my passport to get a Mongolia visa? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The Mongolia visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages. Visa request cannot be processed without your original passport. Because of the importance of your passport, we strongly suggest that you send your application by a secure method, such as a guaranteed postal service or courier.

Passport
The applicant's passport. The passport must:
- Be valid for at least six months after departure
- Have at least two blank facing visa pages.
- Be free of covers.
Photographs
You must provide one colour, passport type photograph that meets the following criteria:
- Be taken within the last three months and printed on high quality photo paper
- Be taken against an all white background
- Be 35 mm by 45mm in size
- Provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression
- You may wear no headwear except for religious purposes
- Your photo should not be affixed to your application and it may not display evidence of adhesive or staples
Letter of Introduction
You must provide a Letter of Introduction from the applicant's Belgian employer. All letters must be printed on company letterhead that displays a Belgian postal address. Use the sample Letter of Introduction, which can be found here, to complete your letter.

An original Letter of Invitation issued by the inviting company. The letter must:
- Be printed on company letterhead paper of the inviting company
- Be signed and stamped by the inviting company
- Registered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia
- Include the name of the applicant
- Include the passport details of the applicant
- Include the full address and contact details of the inviting party
- Specify the reason of the trip
- Specify the number of entries and the duration of the requested visa
- Include an acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant
Proof of authorization
The inviting party/sponsor must organise approval for an entry permit from the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The procedure is as follows:
- The sponsor/inviting party must visit www.consul.mn and select ‘inviting a person to Mongolia’
- The sponsor enters the details of the traveller and the required visa type
- Once the authorization has been issued, the sponsor/inviting party must print, sign and stamp the authorization letter. This must then be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UlaanBaatar
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will forward the authorization to the Embassy in Belgium
The express procedure of 2 working days is only possible if the Embassy received the authorization letter.
Proof of Travel Arrangements
The following documents must be provided:
- A copy of your flight itinerary or your e-ticket
- A hotel confirmation
Proof of Travel Insurance
A written statement from the travel insurance company of the traveller. The statement must:
- Declare that the travel has a policy with world wide coverage or at least has coverage in the country of destination
- Declare that the traveller has a policy for the duration of the trip
- State the name of the traveller
- Be written in English

One Year Multiple Entry Applicants
Applicants applying for a one year multiple entry visa must provide an official invite issued by the Mongolian Immigration Service

Visa May Not Be Required
The Government of Mongolia has implemented a temporary visa-free regime starting January 4th, 2023 to December 31st, 2025. During this period no visa is required for a maximum stay of up to 30 days.
Please keep in mind that even if staying less than 30 days, you must:- Hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
- Hold proof of sufficient funds
- Hold proof of onward/return airline tickets
- Hold all documents required for the next destination
- Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change
For stays of longer than 30 days, a visa is required.Passport

Proof of Financial Means
Evidence of available funds must be provided as the applicant's last three bank statements. These must be provided as a copy of first and the last page of the paper bank statements or as a print-out of the applicant's online bank statements.
